Ingear™ test units are available to qualified OEMs for in-house testing and validation.
Our Kia Soul EV test vehicle adapted to use an Orion test unit is shown in this video. Orion units are available now for qualified customers.
Custom-designed Test Units
Inmotive also designs and builds custom test units for qualified OEMs. We can design and manufacture different sized units, with different gear ratios, sizes and geometries that fit within packaging constraints.
Software and Electronics
Ingear™ test units ship with electronics, wiring harness and pre-installed, embedded software. The electronics connects via CAN protocol to either a vehicle ECU or test bench controller and is capable of advanced motor control for shift synchronization. Gear changes can be performed using either a manual switch or through an electronic GUI interface.
Off-the-Shelf Test Units
Off-the-shelf test units are designed to handle SUV-sized torques. They come complete with a primary reduction gear, Ingear™ and a differential in a case with oil lubrication. Basic electronic control systems can be operated manually or via an electronic interface.
